Mobley Hotel-

One of the newly restored Mobley Hotel rooms. The Mobley was bought by Conrad Hilton in 1919. It was the only way he could get a place to sleep at that particular time. This little hotel became the first in the huge Hilton Hotel chain. Hilton saw a financial opportunity in providing rooms to oil field workers; thus, rooms were rented for eight-hour shifts, and henceforth tripling the tiny hotel's normal income. Now restored to it original charm, this hotel now serves as the city's chamber of commerce office and community center. Two rooms are restored to the original 1919 look; another room features an historical museum. Open for tours 9-12 & 1-5 Monday-Friday.
